Chris completes 150 marathons!

On Saturday 65-year-old Chris Leahy became the first Kiwi female pensioner to complete 150 marathons. She finished the Feilding Marathon just six days after her 149th even in Auckland.
Only three New Zealand women of any age have ticked off the 42.19km distance 150 times.
After her first marathon in Hamilton in 1984 she thought "never again." "But it's like everything. The pain wears off and you think, maybe I'll do another one." She ran her first 55 marathons before starting to walk them. Chris is a regular winner at Feilding, having won the run four times and the walk five times.
She walked in to cheers from her mates at the finish line at Feilding on Saturday in 5 hours 20 minutes, but says times don't matter too much any more. "I just enjoy it. I've met so many people, made so many friends - and it's a good way of seeing the country."
She is "chuffed" with the 150th milestone but will keep competing as long as she still finds it fun.
Well done Chris!
