The day dawned cool with the temp around 4 degrees and a light breeze from the north but after two hours or so the temp was up to warm 9 degrees and a breeze shift to the south which had a cooling effect on the back markers coming home. Prize giving was held upstairs at the Petone Workingman’s Club with several HVMC member’s collecting spot prizes.

As a general rule, running shoes need replacing once you have covered about 500 miles in them. However, there are a number of factors that will influence exactly when your shoes will wear out, such as, your build, your running style or gait, the surface you normally run on, and the type of shoe.

Mel Tuineau clocks 100 marathons

Mel Tuineau completed her 100th marathon at the Aurora Marathon on the 2nd of June 2013.  A great acheivement.  Well done Mel!
